Beckett roughed up for Radio 3 by Sweet and co.

Early on in Sunday's Radio Beckett, Matthew Sweet confidently announced that Rough for Radio I was first produced for radio in English by RTE in 2006, and that Sunday night's was the first production for Radio 3. Piffle! Ten days after the RTE broadcast Radio 3 broadcast a performance by John Tilbury and Sebastian Lexer was broadcast during that evening's Hear and Now. A year or so earlier, the same pair's performance of Cascando was broadcast as part of Jazz on 3. Even a cursory look at Wikipedia would have put Sweet and co. right on that one.

Interesting use of binaural processing though.

Beckett is a passion of mine, and frankly, I turned off after an hour. And as you say, Sweet or his producers were all over the place on landmarking productions. Suppose we should be thankful for mercies!

Actually, I had major probs with binaural, alas, alas!
