I missed the announcement that an unpublished Joe Orton story has been adapted as a radio play and will be broadcast in the autumn as part of the Third Programme celebrations.

I wouldn't expect it to necessarily be great drama, but it will be interesting to encounter a new piece by JO.

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I've read the essay - The Visa Affair - on which this drama will be based. It is in the Orton Collection at Leicester University.

It's a slight piece, but this may be interesting.
