    Bruised classics

Radio III's day-long schedule for Aug. 30 reminds people how The Libation Bearers goes (Pt 2 of Aeschylus's trilogy:) "Agamemnon returns home to kill his mother . . ."

Not really surprising after giving him a name like that.

Not enough information for some? Just right for me - short and sweet.

            Part 2 of the … Oresteia …
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

What task did they assign to Iphigenea?

Now reads: 'The second play in Aeschylus's classic trilogy about murder, revenge and justice. Agamemnon's son Orestes returns home from exile to kill his mother in revenge for his father's murder.'

The second play in Aeschylus's classic trilogy in a new version by playwright Ed Hime.

So we'll say no more - just an unfortunate omission.
