....I've been thinking about this, and have come to conclusion -Dark Forces may be afoot...
....Double Standards: “He has a perfect right to a private life but as soon as he knew this he should have withdrawn from all regulation of the press.”
John Whittingdale described the situation {his affair with a sex worker} as embarrassing and insisted it had no impact on any decisions he made as secretary of state."
....Whittingdale will present MOTD until Nadine Dorries is freed up ....bong ching

Just tuned to Five Live for Fighting Talk - cancelled by participants in support of Lineker. Mark Chapman and Alan Shearer have pulled out of Five Live sport coverage due to start at 12. Curious to see what happens - I can't see that any self-respecting presenter will want to step into the breach.

From #115 of the "Axing" thread:
It is perhaps a shame that, unlike the situation with MOTD, if conductors and soloists refused to work with BBC orchestras to make a stand against the cuts, that would likely merely hasten the demise of said orchestras, and hence be totally counterproductive.
...shame the same cannot be said of MOTD

BBC working very hard to crawl an unhandsome / undignified road to getting a knighthood from this Tory govt, their apparent masters?
If they'd let it go, NONE of this would have happened, it would all have died down and been quickly forgotten. Instead, they have rubbed the sore very hard in public to stave off Tory dark-benchers until it all pulsed out blood.
Are they that determined to end their role as UK's No1 / loved / respected / valued by most media outlet?

These things are not divisible.
Lineker is within his rights, but badly compromised by Qatar .I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.
