I didn't fork out, partly from suspicion and partly through stinginess! Obviously the latter 'paid off' in this case.

Their campaigning does not run on free air. I tend to share, rather than contribute financially, but that reflects my status as someone who relies principally on a state pension, admittedly enhanced by its deferral.

Whereas we end up with the likes of Blair, Johnson, Truss et al, and with those being appointed by the majority party without a revolutionary struggle against a historically highly oppressive previous regime. As to Hitler, his favourite composer was said to be Bruckner, rather than Wagner, though he certainly admired the latter's work and expressed anti-Semitism. Is it correct that Labour had a freezing of the age for claiming pension in its 2019 budget ?

Be nice if they could repeat the offer. Not holding my breath.

Sorry, I don't follow Labour policy that closely. Others here may know. What I do know is that the restoration of the 'Tipple Lock' for the year 2023-4 does not compensate for its abandonment for 2022-3.

The uprating with wages inflation in 2022/23 would, surely, have been a huge statistical anomaly though ?

Wow ! In 9 posts we've gone from Axeing of the BBC Singers to discussion of Hitler -- a perfect demonstration of Godwin's Law. I claim my £5...

I tried to post this some time ago but the internet has been intermittent since midmorning and I've been playing catch-up ever since.
This is quite some achievement https://www.theguardian.com/music/20...n-to-axe-choir
Pity that the management(esp. government) reaction will be "only 700 signatures, ignore it", completely overlooking the category from which those signatures originate.
