Very odd how this thread started with human relationships, but was quickly "hijacked" by pet lovers. Ah well .....
Obviously dogs and cats are more interesting!
Well, relationships in general - which is what I took this thread to be about, potentially - have always been the stuff of drama, and very interesting!

Could have been worse :-)
Tech relationships can be fraught - Alexa drives me mad "the answer to your question is 4". And don't get me started on Windows...

Not to mention maths relationships -"2 is less than 4"! :laugh
Did anyone bother to watch Alain de Botton's video? [post #1]

I watched the first few minutes (after reading your earlier comment about "this thread started with human relationships"), but I'm afraid I gave in - he's an excellent speaker, but it's not for me.
"My task today is to turn that anger into sadness... Rage in to grief..."
Some of the YouTube comments make depressing reading, at least FoR3 has a much better standard of discussion.
I watched the entire video with interest, then discovered on my shelves my wife's copy of 'The School of Life'. This is an anthology of writings by a collective of psychologists, philosophers and writers operating under a common brand. It's edited and introduced by Alain de Botton. It takes much longer to read than the above video (though one can always dip in) but it's more rewarding.
