Bit of a weasel or maybe a jellyfish really isn’t he? All this retrospective regret doesn’t really wash! If he had any backbone or decency he would have fessed up at the time over Barnard Castle or resigned with a bold statement in September when Johnson refused to impose the Lockdown. Instead he went quietly with his cardboard box. If he saw and heard all the things he has now claims, doing nothing at the time shouldn’t have been an option! I think Johnson and his sycophantic cabinet, the toffs in the Tory party and the electorate who put them there have a lot to answer for, then so have a labour party that put their previous leader in place and a no teeth opposition at the last election.

As a major architect of Brexit, Cummings will remain loathsome to me. Whatever ugly rifts occur in their relationship Johnson will always be in his debt since he was opportunistically able to use Brexit to remove Cameron and become PM. Cummings admitted yesterday he found him "unfit fit job". Thanks for letting us know.

As to DC's claims - they have the ring of truth in many - I pointed out that maybe 10-20 thousand care home occupants died as a result of 'saving the NHS' in the 1st lockdown - BJ's delays in imposing the 2nd & 3rd lockdowns probably saw the death of another 50,000 - the delay in not moving India to red status, done purely for political reasons to encourage a trade deal, will I suspect prevent the grand unlocking planned for June
