I've thought of one - the destruction of UKIP and therefore hopefully the reduction in the appearances of the oleaginous cretin Farage and his tin pot racists.
    Best regards,
    Jonathan

I don't know about UKIP and the supporting cast but Mr Farage is still 'broadcasting' on YouTube.

Possibly. Though NF has renamed the Brexit Party, which is now, I think, the Reform Party and will fight on a somewhat differnt platform while having the same members with the same basic outlook. But at least one hears less of him/them for the moment. Probably more a result of Covid than Brexit.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

The irony was that it was the EU elections based on proportional representation that gave him and his cohort some sort of political platform. One of the most shameful moments of many was their turning their backs on some young musicians playing Beethoven's Ode to Joy at the opening of the European Parliament in 2019.

No wonder Cameron took to drink ..... https://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...o-b446128.html

I saw the statement from a Pfizer representative that their supply chains were complex, and that the introduction of export controls would be problematic for them and could lead to the shut down of vaccine production, in a news report (possibly from one of the European news agencies), but I can't remember which one.

I donโ€™t think the EU Commission would want to mess with Yorkshire.......

Businesses in the West Midlands say they are experiencing big delays in exporting to Europe or having goods returned to the UK due to problems with paperwork and VAT payments.

Indeed, some of the real benefits of membership, in my view. Mess around with the working time directive and expect a rise in road casualties for a start.

Looks as though the EU has put the boot into the NI protocol - this can't end well - stupidity on the part of the EU since proved that they are willing to accept a border on Ireland - the Irish government appears to have reacted badly not even having been notified in advance.

Or maybe they are warming up for Yorkshire with Ireland .
What a sorry mess this is turning into.

I had always assumed that people who reach the level of EU commissioner would be very smart cookies. I mean, we know the awful quality of some of the numskulls who reach cabinet level here, but....you know....

The EU has not decided it was a mistake after all and they will not invoke protocol 16 - now they get the worst of all possible worlds having demonstrated that when they see it in their own benefit they are willing to override it - now maybe wiser heads can get together and sort out both messes.
