    G7 in Cornwall

When I heard the news I did a quick check of the date - no not April yet! Well we have the infrastructure - Culdrose and Newquay Airport and of course the World leaders can all all use the Park and Ride at St Erth and catch the Baby Train to Carbis Bay where the platform is handily placed for a short walk to the Carbis Bay Hotel - hopefully by then the track will have been relaid by then and they won’t have to rely on a bus replacement! Oh! and Macron will be able to taste the best Cornish sea food he’s been missing since December 31st.

maybe AirForce 1 could have a refuel at Cork and a leg stretch just at same time as the Irish Gov are on a day trip? - thus Biden manages to visit Ireland (+ EU) 1st without putting the Brits' nose too much out of joint

I wonder whether they’ve checked out St Ives properly . It must be the most congested town in Britain . Went there in JANUARY last year ( on a final filming trip as it turned out ) and the streets were unbelievably busy. Took half an hour to find a car park space on the Island - after driving up and and down everywhere else . Queues at the Porthminster Beach cafe etc - . Of course the Caribs has its own car park but what about all the hangers on ...?

I suppose that the fact that there is only one road into Carbis Bay is a congestion problem, but probably from a security point of view easier to control.

They’ll pretty much close that part of St Ives down - which would have massively annoyed the tourist trade had that not already happened....
Never stayed at the Carbis Bay . Stayed at the Boskerris (twenty five years ago) just up from there which offered me the smallest portion of sole I have ever been served in my life. Used to like the Garrack but I see that’s closed..

They will all probably get a chopper from Newquay or Culdrose - no?

I wonder if they'll all be given Cornish Cream tea etiquette lessons: cream or jam first?
                  No protocol lapses, please!

                      Is there a road out?

There’s no helipad at Carbis Bay but looking at the map the cricket pitch at St Ives School looks like an option or , depending on tide , the beach but I don’t know how steeply it shelves ...

On a more serious note: WILL THIS AFFECT THE FILMING OF THE 10TH - AND FINAL - SERIES OF 'DOC MARTIN'?

I’m sure the hotel manager has this all under control - and the ‘thunder and lightning’ will be mandatory!
