What a difference a year makes - Productivity

I found this in an article about using Slack as a productivity tool for groups ...

Instead, concentrate on the task in hand and, never forget, walking down the corridor to have a chat or picking up the phone can build far better personal relationships without all that screen clutter.
The article was published in January 2020 - https://www.wired.co.uk/article/slack-ruining-work

It may have made sense then, but now ....!!!

I was looking for ways to improve online communication for groups I'm involved in and stumbled across Slack - https://slack.com/intl/en-gb/

This is all completely new to me! Ironic that the name Slack should be applied to workplace communications right at a time when literal slack is the one thing squeezed out of the production continuum in the name of efficiency, with things such as "just-in-time" being introduced to minimise the phenomenon of "inventory", with the longterm outcome lack of beds and hospital places we see all around us.
