Even if you thought you knew something about it this is a shocking read....so this is "free trade"?
A moratorium on the dreadful phrase "teething troubles" is long overdue.... always the answer when ministers have no answer....its become one of those "if I hear it one more time I'll...." phrases....
BTW....anyone found any aubergines in the shops recently...?

Food miles? Yes...the much-vaunted government enthusiasm for joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership, for which they have formally applied, will be a great help....
But they are promising cheaper food for us all - well of course they are - so that's alright then isn't it?
Not to mention....

Do we want to trade with all countries, or just the EU ?
I mean, free trade deals are a good thing, aren't they ?I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

We had it inside the EU Single Market. Did we really vote to leave the single market and the customs union, or did the ERG force it upon us? We could have had Political Separation without it, and without denying the referendum result. A more harmonious compromise, perhaps?
Now we are mired in protracted costs, bureaucracy, squabbles, mutual blame and endless renegotiations....whilst attempting to establish what is still fondly referred to as "free trade" further afield, elsewhere...
As for Ireland, well..........Last edited by jayne lee wilson; 08-02-21, 17:51.
