    AI, robots, cause and effect

This article has some interesting ideas - https://getpocket.com/explore/item/t...use-and-effect based on the life and work of Judea Pearl.

Use of initials AI. In agriculture it is used to produce cows. Its more recent use is to milk them.

In trading standards where I spent my working life, AI meant an 'Authority Initiated' investigation, one started on own initiative by an officer rather than stemming from a consumer complaint. A colleague who was also a keen 'Young Farmer' in her leisure hours got a good laugh when she explained how seeing it on a new complaint form always gave her a passing moment of confusion
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

I also tend to think of the agricultural rather than the tech version first, but lately my brain has insisted on reading the 'I' as 'l' and immediately going to PM Johnson, which isn't just confusing it's really annoying. I can only assume it's something to do with finding out that he is known as Al to his friends and my dislike of the Boris jolly chap charade.
It's one of the situations where a bit of incorrect punctuation would be welcomed; A.I. rather than AI.

Has anyone seen The Social Dilemma on Netflix? The film argues for regulation of Tech Companies, that they not be allowed to change the fundamental way people think in order to sell more product. The Tech Companies answer is that we need more High Tech, better algorithms. It would seem that Pearl would fall into the latter camp.
