A computer program was able to beat a human pilot in a simulated military conflict. AI can be used for good purposes, but one concern is that it may be allowed to get out of control.

The cat is truly out of the bag on this one.

It also raises serious questions about who does the decision-making and has control over what artificial intelligence is produced, and to what ends it is deployed, because can anyone seriously believe that, were there to be popular control (eg through democratically structured workers' and consumers' councils), such artificial intelligence would ever have been allowed to see the light of day? Surely to goodness it would have been arrested at the conceptual stage?
