Last night’s BBC 2 – James Baldwin documentary “I’m Not Your Negro” – was IMO one sobering prescience watch - has anything changed?

Only in the apparent inability of present-day intellectuals to put across a consistent position and clearly argued point of view: yesterday evening's discussion on feminism on Radio 4 being yet another depressing example. I watched this last night, and came away with nothing but the greatest admiration for Baldwin. If only there were more like him around today.

There weren't many like him around then to be honest, A brilliant man IMO and a fine programme.

An impressive and moving programme. Glad I recorded it. James Baldwin was a wonderful speaker as well as writer.
