There were 402 cases amongst Bristol University students in the 7 days to 21st October. Curiously there were only 117 amongst the students at the UWE.

The two together would probably account for something like 40% to 50% of cases in Bristol over the same period, though that assumes all UWE students are resident in Bristol which is probably not the case.

I'm glad it is some helpful.

The link for the map should continue to work regardless of future updates to the map and the data.

          Crikey!

I happened to be looking at Imperial College’s testing data this morning. In marked contrast with Bristol, Imperial reports just 46 infections amongst its students in the last 2 weeks, and 5 or fewer for staff. https://www.imperial.ac.uk/about/cov...-testing-data/

Perhaps there is a benefit in only teaching scientists!

Are they special driving glasses? Wouldn’t have thought there was much of a market - who on earth would want to look remotely like him? ...and do they come with a ‘weasel word’ description?

...my stepson is in the process of completing his engineering PhD at Imperial. As far as I can tell his part of the college is effectively closed, with everyone working from home. He has to get specific approval to nip in to collect particular items of kit. So not a lot of socialising going on...

I think undergrads and Masters students are receiving a mixture of online and in-person teaching, but are told only to visit the College for scheduled teaching. Regardless, I suspect the issue with students everywhere is their socialising off-campus, and at house parties etc. rather than lectures and tutorials on-campus.

There's been a big discrepancy between the two universities in Cambridge. Cambridge had 154 cases in the week to Oct 18th (somewhere around 75% of the total cases for the city in that period) whereas Anglia Ruskin had just 4 (over all three sites). The former has a much more rigorous testing programme, so will have picked up a higher proportion of actual cases, but even so this is a big difference. Anglia Ruskin trains a lot of nurses, so maybe they're even better than general scientists!

Some rather conflicting statements, apparently from DC.

This is one I agree with
Mr Cummings also claimed it was "crazy" of Mrs May to trigger Article 50 without preparing for the before or after.
                            Absolutely!

                            There is another one

.... the Government decision to leave the European Atomic Energy Community was made by "morons".
                            Agree.

                            and another
Mr Cummings predicted there would be an "inevitable inquiry" into why Brexit occurred, and said that "schoolchildren will shake their heads in disbelief that such characters could have had leading roles in Government".
What planet is this guy on?

He was the one who largely took credit for the campaign for Brexit, and now he's raising questions about why?

Maybe he should look in a mirror and mutter something aout "morons". Of course his vision is impaired without his trips to Barnard Castle.

Please don’t mention the D*m word, I find it causes me to want to make the shortish walk to his house to help him from his front garden into the car that takes him to work. Where “help” has been radically defined in a way you can probably imagine,
