Some figures in today's weekly ONS report for England and Wales caught my attention.
These figures are for w/e 12th June but the figures for the previous week are not dissimilar:
The excess deaths are the difference between the week's deaths and the average of the previous 5 years.
"Non-Covid excess deaths" is my calculation: <Total excess deaths> minus <Covid-19 deaths>
