Anybody got a view on whether they will download the NHS tracking app ?
I think I probably will, though I’m not really happy about the nature of the app, the people developing it etc. I assume that the government has or has the ability to obtain my data in any case, and that reducing the incidence of the virus is probably the more important issue right now.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Some of my more conspiracy-minded friends think it is simply the next phase of the compliance test.... Jim Jones anyone ?

But with that track record, I am fearful for the next phase. Coming out of lock down too soon ? I hope not but the message is horribly muddled and not helped by the actions of a certain advisor. 'Local lock downs' looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Test and trace strategy, laughably inadequate. Policy and action regarding care homes, disgraceful. Is there anything on the plus side ? Some marks for effort regarding the furlough scheme perhaps, for all its imperfections. The NHS did not collapse completely under the strain.

Apparently it's perfectly possible that people could be repeatedly asked/told to isolate for 14 days if they're notified, on different occasions, of different contacts.

With the help of the data admirably shared on this forum (and elsewhere), I shall make up my mind when I shall go shopping, get within 10 metres of any other human being or touch anything touched by anyone else within the previous 72 hours without washing my hands afterwards. No need to be traced/tracked/told to self-isolate/quarantine/download app.

And when we want to get back to something more like “ normal”.....concerts, travel, gatherings, whatever ? And those people who need to work outside the home?
Seems to me that if we want those things, we have to go along ( reluctantly probably) with the systems being out in place, imperfect though they are.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

At least we now have some international news, since the government seems to have shut down any comparisons. The USA has now had more than 100,000 deaths
Sadly my own predictions of 50,000 deaths in the UK do look as though they are going to be realised, or exceeded. This does gradually appear to be acknowledged by official sources.
It’s not rocket science. Just look at the area under the curves in the published graphs.
