Originally posted by Count Boso View PostI had an appointment at the local Dental Hospital (also a bus journey away) on March 19. I rang and cancelled it as I'd just started self-isolation and said could I ring and make an appointment later, and they said, No, I had to make a new appointment then or I'd be discharged. The new one is for 28 May. I shall cancel that one too and make another if necessary as it's not an urgent problem.

The Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) published an updated report on patients in intensive care who are critically ill with COVID-19 on Saturday 4th April 2020.
The report provides an analysis of the patients who go into intensive care (age, sex, co-morbidities, etc) and of the outcomes. It is not a cheerful read and needs to be interpreted and put into context by someone with expertise in the field. Because of that I will merely provide two links for anyone who might be interested:
A summary by Prof Duncan Young, Professor of Intensive Care Medicine, University of Oxford of the report's notable findings: https://www.sciencemediacentre.org/e...search-centre/

Here, we are still being told that we don’t “need” full PPE when seeing positive patients. 12 Nurses infected at University of Illinois Hospital, 13 at University of Chicago where my wife works. A Pulmonary Doctor I know bought his own full set of PPE, wears it constantly, and was told by Hospital Administrators because he was “scaring” the Nurses. At Massachusetts General, 41 infected employees, and the Hospital releasing a statement that these were not work related.
I’d like to force Hospital Administrators to sit and triage patients and see how sanguine they feel about it
