And with all the runs [sic] on loo roll, I would have thought it might be well up there.

Well, maybe better than saying that interest rates have hit rock bottom?

PS: Apologies if others find this levity inappropriate on what should be a thread of great concern to us all.

I've just been talking to our gardener (don't get the wrong idea, he only comes for 1 hour every fortnight). He's got an offset mortgage which means he's a winner.

We have offered our cleaner (similarly, don't get the wrong impression: two hours every fortnight) payment for four sessions regardless of whether or not she turns up. Prompted by a letter in today's Times, but I'd like to think we'd have done it anyway.

We've already had 3 offers of help from friends and neighbours and the local Community Association can also be contacted. We shall follow what arguably should be Churchill's most famous suggestion and keep on buggaring on.

Exercising indoors today. Weather too drab to entice me outside. Early next week looks better though. I will have to be more careful when walking in the usually deserted woods then. With the schools closed, who knows what feral kids might get up to?

Just heard on the news that delivery driver driving hours restrictions are to be relaxed. They were put in place for safety reasons. I'm not at all sure I am enthusiastic about this relaxation. Over-tired drivers of 38-tonne artics on the road is not to be encouraged.
