I think it needs so be treated with some caution.
    Yes.
But just because somebody is wrong about one thing doesn’t make them wrong about everything.
David Icke was spot on, very early on, about Jimmy Saville.

So it's a question of balance. On balance, David Icke was pretty well correct in most of his pronouncements - look, he was right about JImmy Savile.

Any website identified as being American far-right, which has been supported by Farage and Trump, deals in conspiracy theories and got banned by Google very recently from its ads platform for 'monetizing content promoting hate' sounds a tiny bit fishy to me.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

No, that’s not the point. Its about not dismissing things out of hand.

I have no idea about that website. But the anecdotal stuff about empty hospitals is to be heard everywhere, and is important.

It’s sort of like that one song that , for a listener, redeems a muician they don’t usually enjoy at all.

Fair enough. All I'm saying is than whenever you hear 'anecdotal stuff', check your sources.

Did the original quote come from the Guardian, or was that also "fake".

Well done for spotting that it was almost certainly spurious.

You are not confusing The Guardian with OffGuardian, are you? They are very different kettles of fish.

As well as checking anecdotal sources, important to check official ones too.
The changes in the NHS ( and in society more generally) implemented during the crisis may be very hard to undo, and may well be to our disadvantage .

We're in Wales, on holiday at the moment. Having travelled from Hertfordshire Covid attitudes in Wales are radically different to those back in England. The local Sainsburys in Tenby will only admit one person per trolly, so this means that a husband and wife browsing the aisles, doing the weekly shop is forbidden, as is metal cutlery in any restaurant that will serve you-outdoors only, of course-and those restaurants that are serving takeaways need your name & mobile number-any number & name- before completing the order. It feels like south-east England was about a month ago, but (and this is the odd bit) hugging and cuddling of children and grandchildren is perfectly acceptable and is seen all over the place.

Different places, different paces-I get that, but with a little ingenuity one can get round the rules if one wanted to.... My wife could queue up for a trolly at the supermarket and I could queue a few people behind her, thus allowing us to meet in the shop! The other strange thing is that all shops in Wales accept cash-card payments ARE accepted, of course, but cash isn't a problem, unlike London, where cash sees to be a no-no at the moment.

Still enjoying the break down here, in spite of the Corona virus!

I'm really not sure. Maybe the OffGuardian has been made to look very like the genuine version. I'm not rushing to check, but what I saw "looked" genuine.

The item linked to by Boilk opens:

                          Via Off-Guardian.org,

Although we cannot verify his or her identity, we still think our readers should see it:

                          1) because it dovetails with other verified reports, and

                          2) if it is what it alleges to be, it sheds concerning light on the state of things inside the healthcare system

First published on The Bernicean, the below statement is allegedly from a senior consultant working for the NHS in a hospital in Surrey, describing the criminal gagging of all levels of NHS staff, who have been threatened that they will lose their jobs if the speak out about the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bernicean website, credited as the source of the "statement", is most emphatically Alt-Right.

The supposed A&E consultant's statement is preceded by the following para.
Here lies an anonymous statement from an A&E consultant in a major hospital in Surrey, in relation to the criminal gagging of all levels of NHS staff, who have been threatened that they will lose their jobs if the speak out about the COVID-1984 scamdemic.
