I appreciate its not hard, with this material, to write an eviscerating article. Marina Hyde's article in the Guardian is quite scathing :
The prime minister’s decision is not born of loyalty to his adviser – he just can’t get rid of his ideas man, says Guardian columnist Marina Hyde
Unfortunately, with Brazen, contemptuous defiance Johnson has decided to sit it out. I can't see a largely supine Tory party in its first year of office doing anything about it.
If Johnson won't lead effectively, for the sake of those at risk in a second or third spike, is there really no mechanism to rid ourselves of this dangerous government?
The story about the re-editing by Cummings to insert Coronavirus into his blog, is well and truly out there, I'm glad to say.

Matt Hancock shouldn't keep supporting those people. If he really thinks they're OK - well - he's clearly not in agreement with a majority of the population. OK - he thinks he owes them a favour maybe, but there are enough people thinking that he (MH) is not doing a good job - with tests not happening, and now it looks like there's a hiatus with the IOW testing. These factors may not be of his making, but he's apologising and defending the people who've set him up to fail. He should bail out now.
This tribal support for someone (DC) who doesn't deserve the position he has is madness. Before yesterday many would perhaps have given DC the benefit of the doubt, but I don't think many will now.

Qs for DC I don’t see him as having been asked-
1. Do you have other family members in London who could have helped you with childcare so that you would not need to embark on a 260 mile journey whilst ill?
2. What’s the capacity of your car’s tank?
3. When did you last fill It up before the journey?
4. When did you next visit a petrol station?
5. What comfort break stops did you make on that long journey?
6. Did you buy anything apart from petrol on these breaks? Please check your bank statements and credit card receipts to help you remember.
7. What is the date of your mother’s birthday?
8. Did you think and then choose to mark the occasion in any way?
9. Is it the case that you are currently in contempt of Parliament for refusing to attend a Select Committee hearing?
10. I put it to you Mr Cummings that you are a serial liar no respect for the rule of law, who believes he is above those people whose futures he has been cynically manipulating. Do you have anything to say?

To quote the Leopold Amery, a Conservative M.P., during the Munich Crisis: "in the name of God, go!" Dominic Cummings is causing the credibility of this government to suffer and, more importantly, the rule of law, to be called into question. This is, by any standards, a disaster, and should be brought to an end now by either him doing the decent thing and resigning, or the Prime Minister sacking him. The longer this drags on, the worse it is for all of us!Major Denis Bloodnok, Indian Army (RTD) Coward and Bar, currently residing in Barnet, Hertfordshire!
