If you look at Platform 3 on the Forum list you will see that it is permitted to discuss things other than R3 and music. In any case matters political have an effect on R3 and music - BBC licence fee, and visa issues for BAME musicians performing in the UK come to mind.

I assumed the reference was to the name of the poet who used lower case for his surname, but usage seems to vary randomly. C/cummings, D/dichter.

              Boulez ist der Komponist.

Our neighbour when I was a teenager was a lecturer at Surrey University. One day (literally over the garden fence) using numerous examples he impressed my young sixth-form mind by expounding to me the cock-up theory of history, whereby politicians tend to achieve the opposite of that which they set out to achieve. The more fanatical they are, the more deluded they are likely to be and the more likely that the theory will apply. (eg A. Hitler).

Brexit is a classic case in point.

...and the part that George Eustice has, and has been set up to play in it. Anyone who has watched the BBC2 documentary series on Cornwall’s fishing industry will see the size of his catch!

Cummings and Johnson are like Rasputin and the Tsarina. Wonder who is going to play the metaphorical ( not literal obviously) Prince Yusupov ?

I like the comparison that the i put the other day of Boris Johnson, Carrie Symonds and Dominic Cummings with HenryVIII, Anne Boleyn and Thomas Cromwell.

I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone, believe me the situation makes my blood boil, but it is the result of a failure in democracy, and we are all part of that demos, like it or not.

Apparently a cartoonist in a daily paper today had a picture of Boris at the cabinet table, but all the ministers were Dominic Cummingses. Can anyone find that or post it up?
