The only person I can think of who could outwit and/or subdue DC would be 'Humpy', as portrayed by the late lamented Nigel Hawthorne.

I think the best description of DC is a Teflon Nasty.

I'm not sure from everday footage of him leaving his home which part of London he lives in. From the early Victorian architecture it could possibly be Kingsland or Hackney, or Peckham. I hope to read of his being mugged for his Gucci bobble hat.

The phrase "pseudointellectual" might as well have been created for Cummings— "The dumb person's idea of a smart person".

It's a pity that in Johnson's cabinet, and in the Tory party more generally, there is such a deep, rich fertiliser of stupidity and ignorance to buoy up this hubristic dilettante. I suppose next to people like IDS, Leadsom and Francois, to name but a few, it's easy to feel like a comparative genius. Must be like watching a goldfish bowl.

My guess is that like Liar Johnson, Cummings will continue to avoid getting into debates with experts or anyone else who actually understands what they're talking about, because his superficial grasp and misunderstandings would be embarrassingly exposed.

He still puts me in mind of an undergrad physics student who's just discovered amphetamines, and thinks he's on the brink of profundity and greatness because of "insights" ... that will be mysteriously beyond him when the powder has worn off.

Bit of a metaphor for the Brexit iceberg that is about to hole the Tory ship below the waterline: first, the delusions and fantasies; then, out of your depth in freezing water.

Apparently he lives in a town house in Islington - where else? - worth £1.6 million.
His father-in-law owns what is claimed to be Britain's most haunted castle (Chillingham).

you don't - it is the demo that assuming that you have javascript enabled in your browser (default in all + compulsory for Android) then Google will be informed of your IP address each time you access a page on this forum - that may not be too bad in itself but the request to access Googles site also transfers much additional information (again unless you have taken explicit + often awkward or impossible in some - again Android is a spying device) which can uniquely identify your browser - combine this with all the other Google trackers you have a complete history of your browing activity (+ thus your interests) held by Google - now add in the use of gmail for which you have to give a real name + several other similar 'free' services and your browser + IP address become equivalent to leaving your full address, name (+ possibly medical history) being known by companies well outside UK govermental control.

Ah - thanks; so, just west of Kingsland but historically the same territory.

Chillingham - rather a good name for a haunted castle! We need a suitable place name for a should-be haunted conscience - maybe Billingham?

PS - Cummings ist der Diktator. Have we already had that one?

Isn’t Billingham in one of the ‘newly blue’ NE constituencies!

That was what I was getting at, the idea of billing 'em - heavy irony emoticon!

I suppose success is not as important as being perceived as either a weirdo or a misfit, which obviously Julian Smith was not.
The plot thickens - as plots tend to do:

Former NI Secretary Julian Smith dismisses claims the PM was unaware of the Stormont deal details.
