The neighbours temselves have helped make the story headline news by putting up posters in front of the house. Mr Penn contacted the Guardian after the police had been and gone. There are now demonstrations in front of the house by Class War activists including the man who doorstepped Jacob Rees-Mogg's children telling them their daddy is a bad man. He has been photograhed standing by the front door. Do you expect journalists not to report the full story, S_A?
If the story's true, of course not! Nor do I support so-called Class War, who discredit legitimacy and are little different in kind from the so-called Animal Liberation people (or man) who planted a bomb in Boots in Bristol and released all those mink into the ecosystem. If they weren't so naive I'd assume them all to be some kind of "plant"
The "activist" in the Mogg story was none other than Ian Bone, founder of the Class War anarchist group and I imagine one of only a handful of remaining members - in fact I was surprised to read that this "organisation" still exists at all!
In my opinion the ‘national interest’, and I appreciate it’s a catch all term, is preserving the economy in the face of wider threats in the world, the nature of which I hope are clear. Nothing about our present paralysis is going to help that, whichever side one is on.
Yes, what makes me furious is that the Machiavellian goings-on in the Conservative party are presented and/or reported as if they were somehow representing all of us in relation to the problems our country has, and which you so eloquently outline in your post.
I think I would feel the same if any party had the nerve to do the same.
I've just shivered at the thought of Boris Johnson becoming PM and running the country. Charterhouse boy Jeremy Hunt must surely be a safer pair of hands for the Tory leadership contest.
Yes, that Jenkins interview on Newsnight sent the jazz green shovers through me - Emily Maitlis was clearly totally aghast at the glib crap they guy was spouting with no intervention of facts, realism at all. to sift or justify. Crikey!
And the look on Lorna K's face for much of her interview with BJ was a sight - she too just could not believe what she was hearing.
How could ANY group in the electorate swallow unjudged, unsifted, unrelated to known stats etc stuff from those two? It is seriously frightening that we will have a PM elected by people who cannot or will not get real about what they hear from these people. Do they not hear the industry, medicine, security sources and their deep disquiet?

Yes but do the Conservative current membership want a safe pair of hands or a right wing Brexiteer who they think will deliver by Haloween no deal, bad deal or whatever they think will be the salvation of this country at any cost?
There is rumour (informed or otherwise - in comment writers from my trial Online Times access) that there are 10-12 Tory MPs who will support a vote of no confidence. One option being the first day of Parliament post Johnson's coronation - following the failure of the Tory party electorate's in their intelligence test - another option being in September. If only I could believe 10 Tory MPs would be that brave - I would be delighted to be proved wrong.

Well, if they do vote in BJ on the understanding that he is their new Galahad, the irony could be the virtual wiping out / severe mauling of the Tory party they love in any General Election that follows.

Aren't they facing this anyway, Boris or no-Boris?
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!
