The other aspect of this could just be that he began life in a council house. The Prime Minister is supposed to be all about social mobility. Whatever you think of her and life as it is, that is how she sees it. Either very successful people of ordinary origins go into business and/or academic life or "culture". An income of 196k hardly makes one rich. He wouldn't even get in the top ten in this forum on that income!!!

I retired 7 years ago and six-figure salaries are a thing of the past! I'm a poor pensioner. I shop in Morrisons late at night to get the final reductions and I steam off the stamps from my received letters. I rely on Mathius Broucek for my download bargains.
