    Good Life

An interesting country comparison site - https://goodlife.leeds.ac.uk/countri...ited%20Kingdom

    As mentioned here - https://arstechnica.com/science/2018...y-sustainable/

Real issues of sustainability to be considered.

....sounds like a good thread for the weekend.... I thoroughly commend this message....

....we could too : rate countries by how much they are prepared to pay to get a Winter Olympic medal....GB seems to be, 59 athletes expect to get projected 5 medals tops at a cost of £23 million....roughly £4.75 million per medal....

A bargain at twice the price...

I think any medal should be considered a triumph for a country that famously can't cope with the consequences of snowfall. The money allocated to the Olympics (summer and winter) would be better spent on a third Crossrail link for London (linked, of course, to HS2).

          Great idea
lets build more transport infrastructure in London and direct ALL our resources to the South East
I mean, it's not as if there are any other parts of the country AT ALL is it?

It would certainly make matters simpler if we concentrated the entire population in the South East. We could rip up all the railway tracks and roads in the then-deserted areas and use the resultant material to further enhance the local infrastructure. AND we could then abandon/transfer HS2.....

NEWSFLASH...NEWSFLASH...A British competitor has successfully attached himself to one of his skis (the left one) without outside help.

Though the more developed countries have already way exceeded sustainability(perhaps a bit arbitrary) boundaries. I wondered for a while what the green ring represented.
