We nearly didn't get our postal votes before we departed for a staycation. They arrived about 2h before we departed in the afternoon.
In the event it would not have made any difference - the sitting Tory candidate Conned his way back in with a majority of several thousand over the nearest contender.

It's an issue I've seen crop up in banks as well, if a customer is asked for proof of identity, and finds that all the bits of plastic they may have about their person are not suitable.
Anyway good, news, if it is to be believed, ( !!) that the Digital ID framework is on the back burner, even though Blair, irony of ironies, is still calling for it in an attempt ( really ?) to control immigration.
Maybe an adult national conversation about our our demographic issues and migration would be a better place to start.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

People have become utterly besotted with their individual enthusiasms. I suppose it can be a distraction from boring things like going out to vote.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
