I've been finding these short talks fascinating...sort of economics without tears. Today's dealt with the birth of capitalism, but David Graeber has a way of putting things in a light you've not seen before. As an anthropologist his theme throughout all the talks is that all monetary systems arose through debt and that in pre-history there was never an age of bartering (e.g. I'll give you a haircut in exchange for a coconut).
