an interesting survey by Chatham House showing some divergences between Opinion Formers and the Public: the Public being more in favour of border controls and eurosceptic whilst the OF are pro Eu and favour trade building as top international priority for UK .... interesting the support for UK to act as a great power has increased in both groups since 2012
and:
one might add that the contribution of R3 to the international standing of the UK is hardly acknowledged but may well be very significant among foreign elites ....
and:
Opinion-formers overwhelmingly think the BBC World Service is the UK’s top foreign policy tool. When presented with a list of different foreign policy ‘assets’, 68% of opinion-formers think it does the most to serve the UK’s interests around the world. This is far ahead of the country’s diplomats in second place (38%) and its membership of the EU in third (37%).
