Despite the strange singular of the Beeb's description "Luceram Ensemble performs Biber's Mystery (Rosary) Sonata", what we actually heard was a hopscotch game of numbers 1, 4 10, 9, 14 and 16 of the sonatas.

        13 September 04:39 AM
        Frantisek Jiranek (1698-1778)
        Flute Concerto in G major
Jana Semeradova (flute), Collegium Marianum, Jana Semeradova (artistic director)

I had not come across Jiranek before. John Shea called him the Czech [?] Vivaldi - he'd reputedly studied with Vivaldi in Venice. Collegium Marianum, he said, had championed Jiranek with their recorings.

I thought the singing and the ensemble were very good. Very much enjoyed it. Here’s an interesting article about Hasse and his music.
