Although I was thinking about pieces completed in 1990. Actually I found that it wasn't a particularly fruitful year - the pieces I mentioned (and Lento) were just about the only new compositions I remember from 1990 (apart from my own contributions, but it wasn't such a productive year for those either). Anyone else?

James MacMillan - The Confession of Isobel Gowdie.

A top-notch composition, personal favourite of the '90s for me, reminding me of my thirties!!!

          And arguably MacMillan's best work.

                It's a competitive world being a composer.

You can leave Depeche Mode out of it matey

(though probably the best example of Marimba and Cor Anglais in pop music that I know)

Lutoslawski, Chantefleurs et Chantefables? (Not my favourite of his works, but I'm glad it's there.)

I'm waiting for the "Who are Depeche Mode" from the usual suspects

(But I bet mrPee has all their albums ....... including the ones where they play 2 notes on monophonic synths .... the point where , as a teenage geek , they lost credibility with me while watching them on TOTP)

I love their story as much as their music, although they have made some excellent records.

odd band on the credibility front......

I'm waiting for the "why's the circumflex over the second "e" in "DepĂȘche" missing?" from an unusual suspect and "but isn't "Mode" a record label?" from another...
