Bit earlier than that (2002 or 1902)

                One decision.

It's this wretched software that prevents a poster from quoting more than the last contribution, without a great deal of tiresome manipulation.

Here, for those with a short attention span, is the whole exchange, tiresomely manipulated by me:

It makes perfect sense now that you have only included the second part of Am51's piece of juvenalia.

Juvenilia [sic, though not really the right word as he only wrote it today] or not, the first part of ams's post was irrelevant as it alluded to a previous post of yours, and I wasn't going to go to the trouble of including that.

But your quote from my post does not make much sense without the quote I inserted into it (see above).

As for quotes, I take the view that if you just quote the bit you're replying to it's up to others to click on the 'Originally posted by' blue symbol to go back to the original post in its entirety if they're confused. No need to print out the whole conversation.

Are you sure Mr Pee wasn't confusing Amateur with Juvenal?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I did consider the possibility that Mr Pee really was comparing ams to one of the greatest satirists of all time...but quickly rejected it.

...thought I should maybe have added that it was not the comparison itself that I rejected, but the possibility that Mr Pee would have been able to appreciate it.

Lovely shirt Pabs - definitely your colour - and the glasses enhance the air of a distinguished inquisitor, ready to flick from suave to ruthless in an instant (the chin-rest a cunning lull between questions as you study your interlocuter). Then the plant and pale decor lend a little softness to a fascinatingly complex portrait...

which is pretty good for one of those passport photo booth snaps...........

Anyway, nice to see the real Pabs.
