Best with helium - although there is only a little left; better off putting a candle on your bonce if you want to feel light headed.

Otis Taylor & then JC, That's what I'm talking about JC.

Looking forward to that music walk bit of the Proms now.

you can pull one of those harmonicas along for miles, with your whole family inside, using just a bicycle!

That would just get on my wick, G! Though ideal for listening to waxy.

Played that OT a few times since Max played it - loved hearing that Evora/ Keita track again - seem to recall it turned up on a playlist before.

        Not to mention - http://open.spotify.com/track/7ksjjHBn6x7TW3fmafRD1V

Max has been tweeting excitedly from Latitude - obviously thoroughly enjoying himself...first show tonight:

Max Reinhardt presents highlights from Late Junction at the 2012 Latitude Festival.

Missed the lot of it - that's a drag. For my musical input this holiday, this crew are coming to the village hall - looks interesting!

whisper it ever so quiet - you didn't miss much. It was as I feared (and this may be a self-fulfilling prophecy) - great if you were there (probably) but frankly a little dull if you weren't. Interviews were the worst bit. Ho hum.
              Here's a sample:
Let's all give the Snowy owl a big round of applause
I thought: "Please don't, I'm sure it's scared enough as it is, next thing you'll be asking us to wave flaming candles or something"

Yes, they are definitely worth a visit - they did the rounds here and have also been at Musicport. I believe they now live in England.

In the immortal words of PS ' I have some pictures somewhere'...but this

              isn't one of them.
It's that well known ethnomusicographer Frances Densmore
              but why the music stand?

Max Reinhardt presents music from Katia and Marielle Labeque, and Kronos Quartet.

Almost got caught out there - Max is back this week, slightly out of synch with my slide rule calculations - FT must be on one of her Scandinavian sojourns - wonder if he's going to be live - he's got a smart new photie up there - great hat, though he's making me think a bit of this sadly departed old buffer.

This is one for earlier on R3 tomorrow evening - looks sort of interesting - human jukebox.

                  John, that's old hat !

                  And this is Old Hat

                  Every programme should wear one.

And following on from that a cracking programme or six could be created by a top team of two ( see above photo ) visiting Joe while
                    he's still here.

( I know he's been on the telly but that's not the same ... )

Get him over there, Paul, hat'n'all - that would be fine radio indeed.

Didn't fancy Hannah MacKay and her Idle Chatter on Tuesday evening for all Max' enthusiasm - but I changed my mind last night - most enjoyable - was it different chatter or was my head somewhere else? The Avocado Seed Symphony of Leo Watson was top notch too - sometimes I like short programmes even if I feel short changed. Max really is good live.

....and not to indulge in pointless banter I once again enjoyed Hannah MacKay this time doing Notjustmoreidlechatter on the old listen again. Haven't reached the Late Junction Session yet - still considering it - you know what I mean, don't you?

I didn't catch that one but I liked that track tonight by Krar Collective. Like Teddy Afro - and at his least commercial.

Odd to think that three years ago, I couldn't quite understand the fuss about Ethiopian music. Now I prefer it to a lot of other stuff.

But here's a thing, an iPlayer thing - there is a new version of iPlayer. You can download programmes to your computing device of choice & keep them for 30 days. But ONLY TV programmes. How odd. I would have thought it
would have been easier, or as easy, to download radio programmes. Reason I know? I tried to download one of MaxMeisters

                                I'm sure there's a testy tech thread over on Plat 3 ....
